Other Stuff Or, The Things You Find When You Google Yourself
Art
Several covers I designed for Public Library of Science journals, like the one at right, turn up 'round the net.
An oil painting
I did at Reed College. I've struggled for years with whether to hang this in the house, only to discover it on the Interwebs.
Artifacts
LugRadio Live: Liana Holmberg talks about open source and Second Life. Recorded at 2008 at the Metreon Theatre, San Francisco. (Lug Radio is blokes, bytes and bad jokes. NB: Under the ill-fitting jacket, my t-shirt says "Talk Nerdy to Me," and my talk was preceded by nerd boys streaking in thongs. It was that kind of conference.)
An article on the San Francisco Streets blog that includes a quote from Y.T.: "My mind just kind of went, Boink!" (Cub reporters take note, these are the sound bites you get when interviewing a bike-trailer pulling, toddler totting mother who hasn't slept a full night in five years.
Rumors
True: I have flown the Great Hawaiian Air Race in a Piper Cherokee, twice, with my father. Highly neat.
True: I was a biology field research assistant for a project on the Big Island (published in The Auk).
False: I do not own a J-24 sailboat, though I crewed many years on the foredeck of one (which looked kinda like this, but with smoother legs).
