Creating long-term value for organizations and communitiesLiana Holmberg is the love child of traditional publishing and tech start up culture. She began her career at the award-winning Manoa: A Pacific Journal of International Writing as Assistant Managing Editor. She served next as Production Editor at the University of Hawai`i Press and then Art Director at the premier open-access journal Public Library of Science. She is a graduate of the Stanford Professional Publishing Course and a freelance editor. Evolving with the times, Liana joined Linden Lab, makers of the 3-D virtual world Second Life, where she became Product Manager of Search and Advertising and gained insight into how user-generated content and social media impact publishing. Liana holds a Master’s in Creative Writing from the University of Hawai`i. She writes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. Her award-winning work has appeared in the Academy of American Poets anthology New Voices, the alternative newspaper Honolulu Weekly, and a variety of literary journals online and in print.
